Subject: poor performace

I recently installed a set of headers in place of a broken exhaust manifold on my 77 Midget. After I finished she started fine but I can't get it to rev more than 2500 rpms. It feels as if it's choked out. I tried adjusting thechoke but no luck. Anybody experienced the same problem.
